Happy Birthday 5th Marcus!

Happy Birthday Marcus!

Marcus referral picture!

Praying that you have a wonderful day
 with all those you love!!
Love You Lots!

Marcus the other day with Joni!

Nikelle and Marcus!

 While we wait for something, wait for anything we praise God for the wonderful blessings He has brought to Marcus!!  He has been blessed with visitors!  Special people over the past 4 years who have made time to go and spend time with this little boy we have come to love!!  Nikelle, our hearts swell with joy to know you spent time with Marcus, and of course Joni, who has become to important to Marcus!! I can not imagine the joy that happens when someone pops in to visit!!! (with goodies for everyone, and pictures of a family in another country, band aids, medications, and etc.) One picture we got back you can see older boys looking at the pictures....pictures of things they have probably never seen before!!
We continue to lift all those who continue to wait we are not alone. I know a very special family who also is celebrating birthdays at the end of the week, who have been waiting for 6 plus years. :(   Happy Birthday to Ronaldo and Julia in Guatemala! May God's love fill your little hearts with love, peace and comfort...and most of all the feeling deep inside that a family is doing everything possible to get you home!!! Please continue to pray for the governments all over, to give the children a chance at finding a forever family, and parents who will give the unconditional love every child deserves.
 Many blessings to you all, and may God fill your hearts up with His love and peace!!

~Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God's Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don't know how or what to pray, it doesn't matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. Romans 8:26~

Jeremiah 29:11

This is a favorite verse of mine!  I have clung to the words, that God has a plan for our Family!!  I sent a package and a Bible for someone very special to Marcus, and I hi-lighted this verse in a Bible I had that I sent over for her!
My prayer is that the words may bring peace and understanding to so many people over in the Orphanage! Here is the email I received twice today...thought it was worth sharing here!

For I know the plans I have for YOU, declares the LORD

Dear Women of God
Be still for a while and praise God for His favor, His grace and His awesomeness
God is able to do the impossible and is always near
He loves us unconditionally.
Together, let's get 1000's of ladies to praise Him with one voice in this next hour.

Dear God:
this is my friend, whom I love and this is my prayer for her
Help her live her life
to the fullest.

Please promote her
and cause her to excel
above her expectations.

Help her to shine
in the darkest places
where it is impossible
to love.

Protect her at all times,
lift her up when she needs
you the most,

and let her know when
she walks with you,

She will always
be safe.

Love you Girl!

But you have to tell
nine sisters you love them!
Get going girl!!
Do not ask the Lord to
guide your footsteps.
if you are not willing
to move your feet

Patience...

Our home is filled with craziness! Beau is in Jacksonville, Florida with the youth group doing mission work! I guess it is incredibly hot and humid, and to think we thought it was hot here in Iowa.
Benjamin is up in Minneapolis at a work camp with his youth group, and attending Power Connection! I am sure he is loving every minute, with all the new and exciting new young people he is meeting!
Bradyn has been going to work with Mark, and enjoying time with Dad, learning all new concrete techniques.
Brynn and I went for lunch in Sioux City with a couple of my sisters and went to see Ramona and Beezus! What a cute movie!
Sweet corn is ready, and trying to get some frozen! Mark did freeze some bags up last night!
I am busy packing a new bag for Marcus since Joni is home. He turns 4 in a couple weeks, so I am trying to put stuff for a Birthday Party in a suitcase for all those he loves at the Orphanage. I am wondering if little Debbie's travel well, so they can all have cupcakes?? Seeing his new pictures, hearing what a sweet, quiet, loving little boy Marcus is such a blessing! I long to hold him, and have him part of our family! Marcus is part of us already, prayer time....every prayer includes our little Liberian, doesn't matter who prays, Marcus is with us. We love You Marcus!!
Some days I feel like a broken record as we continue to pray for the Liberian Government. If only the Govt could see the hearts of the family's waiting.

I opened my email today and this is what it was on....

"We also pray that you will be strengthened with his glorious power so that you will have all the patience and endurance you need." Colossians 1:11

Yup God is talking to me today!!! If you have time, read it!

Proverbs 31: Encouragement for Today

I can't believe school is around the corner. Not looking forward to the hussle and bussle school brings. Beau starting his SR year, Benjamin a Freshman, Bradyn starting JH, and Brynn in 1st grade!

Preparing for the next weeks is filled with high emotions, it is exciting although we are cautious knowing anything can happen!
Praying that God will bless those who are waiting, domestically and internationally!

Love Is Patient

Love is patient,
love is kind.
It does not envy,
it does not boast,
it is not proud.

It is not rude,
it is not self-seeking,
it is not easily angered,
it keeps no record of
wrongs.
Love does not delight
in evil but rejoices with the truth.
1 Corinthians 13:4-6

These last couple weeks have been tough!
We know this is all in God's hands, and also in God's timing!
Really wondering, what is God trying to tell us?? I don't
want a pity party for our family! This road is just a bumpy,
twist and turns kind of journey! It is good for us to feel sad,
mad and reexamine our hearts! We will be just fine, and God is
by our side! Sunday Morning we had Youth Sunday in church!
What an awesome service!! One part of the service the song "I will Rise"
was played and all the Kids had card board, and wrote on each side, what they're
worry, sin or problem was and on the other side, what to do about it.
What a bunch of awesome, honest kids!! Ton's of tears where shed through
the whole church! Our Niece, Nephew and Beau had tons of honesty, and brought
me to tears. God is so awesome in their lives, and such an awesome challenge to us parents/family to press on and lean on God!

But you are a shield around me, O LORD;
you bestow glory on me and lifts up my head.
To the LORD I cry aloud,
and he answers me from his holy hill.
Selah
I lie down and sleep;
I wake again, because the LORD sustains me.
Psalm 3:3-5

Signs of spring are around us! The SUN is shining!
Just seen a robin on top of our evergreen tree!
There is even grass under all that snow!! :)

Yesterday Brynn had no school, b/c of Kindergarten Round Up!
We went and had some fun with her cousin at Color Me Mine!!

:)

This is God's promise for us all!
"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'"
Jeremiah 29:11

As we all wait on the Lord, I ask you to pray for those who are all waiting!
Waiting for answers, waiting for results, waiting for so many things!
God hears our prayers, and it is such a good reminder to leave it at God's
feet, for He stays up all day and night and cares for us all!
Have a Blessed Week!

A Morning Prayer....

A great morning devotional for you all! Check it out!

http://proverbs31devotions.blogspot.com/

Thursday, wow, here we go..football for Ben tonight, (it is raining..wonder if they will play(it is homecoming this week-will they take a chance of messing with the football field?).
Beau homecoming football game Friday Night! Go NIGHTHAWKS!
Bradyn football game on Saturday.
Having a "Bachelorette Party" Saturday night for my little sister! I am excited to meet her friends! Having dinner, and an hour shower! Should be a lot of fun! I can't wait to see (and taste) the cake! The decorator is very talented and I wanted it to be a nice/pretty cake. (We are just getting to old for the typical bachelorette cake!) Decided to have it at a hotel, being us sisters live an hour away from her friends, this was the best option. Maybe Mark will come up with the kids! The hotel has a wonderful little water park inside!

Better get a moving to Bible Study!

PRAYERS NEEDED!
Praying constantly for God to OPEN the doors in Liberia!! The boys are joking around the Marcus will be Junior High when he makes it home!

Continuing to pray for those who really need God's hand to hold them in trials of life!
Mark's Uncle Kenny's bladder cancer is back! Please pray for this wonderful, kind, God fearing man! There is not enough words/to tell you how much of an impact Kenny has on others! Kenny is also the Grandfather to The VV family! http://katelynsfund.org/vanvoorst

Have a blessed day!

Hopes & Dreams

Just wanted to share this cute picture Brynn made at school!
As a family waiting for Liberia to reopen, we have not the slightest clue, when this will happen.
Sometime you think is this a dream? Is there really this cute little boy waiting for us? I see his bedroom waiting, with the bed made, clothes in bags, winter coat hanging up, Thomas the Train set sitting on the dresser from Marcus' 2nd Birthday, not to mention all the stuff we quickly bought in January to prepare for our trip! It is there, and we are not going to give up on him! Brynn always prays for her "brother in Liberia", so sweet! One night she forgot to pray for him before dinner, and all of a sudden, "When is my brother ever coming home"? You get so busy you set the thought in the back of your brain. Than your reminded of your sweet little boy when your sweet kindergartner comes home with a picture like this.
As we continue to press forward, we pray for God's direction. Today I started a new Bible Study, a Beth Moore one. Esther...It's Tough Being a Woman! I studied Esther in Coffee Break, and it was awesome. Here is some great stuff just during the introduction.
Ephesians 1:11 Even when we're blind to the evidence, God works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will!
WOW, What a awesome reminder!
Coincidences are Miracles God intended to remain anonymous.
Another great saying! I never thought of it that way!
~~~~~
I am praising God for the blessing of adoption for a family in our area for the birth of a Baby Girl!
God has been so good!
Today I seen a group of ladies from Katelyn's Fund, http://katelynsfund.org/ at our local Bakery, so good to see the blessing of all the children that are home!
This journey is crazy we are on, praying that soon our answers will be answered, and God will continue to shine bright in our household!!
Have a wonderful Labor Day Weekend!
What God has done for Me Lately!
Every morning I receive a devotional sent to my email! I had to share this one...some really hit home. Especially with our adoption with Marcus. We are so blessed to be healthy, family, and the love of Jesus Christ, that we can share His word with others! We have put most of the "adoption" on the back burner. Don't get me wrong, Marcus is still part of our family, part of our prayers, and our daily talks. We just are trying not to obsess with the whole waiting.
There is a reason for everything, we are thankful God knows what is best for us.
http://proverbs31devotions.blogspot.com/2009/02/what-has-god-done-for-me-lately.html
Have a great week, 2 more days till Valentines Day! Friday is Mark's parents anniversary. The adults are meeting for a nice dinner in Sioux Falls! :)
On another note, thought I would change the look to our blog! Baseball season is starting soon! Players report to spring training on Friday! I feel our adoption is like running around the bases!
It took awhile to get to 1st base, stole to 2nd...and while we were stuck in between 2nd and 3rd. Over Christmas Vacation we about stole home, but we got sent back to 3rd! Now we are in rain delay! Too bad it is going to last a couple months! Ugh!
Happy Valentine's Day!
God Bless You All!
