Our little Girl is Growing Up

Being a parent is truly a blessing, although there are the times they get fighting mad at each other. Watching them grow up and make wise choices ( is our prayer every day).
You always wonder who they'll pick out for a girlfriend or boyfriend for B4! My wise Grandma Kooi, always told me to pray as a young teenager for my spouse! She said it is never too early to pray for him. I guess, B4 better get a praying!
Last night on the way to dance this was our conversation:

B4: Hey, mom I gotta boyfriend!

Me: Oh, is he in your class?

B4: No, we play catch at recess!

Me: Do you know his name?

B4: No, but I am his girlfriend!

Me: What is your Dad going to say?

B4: I don't know?

Me: I thought your Dad's girlfriend?

B4: I guess I gotta break up with him!

Today she informed me she was just "joking me"! Oh boy! What are we going to do! So sweet and innocent! Her daddos and brothers were not to excited to think of her liking boys already! Although after school she also said "I broke up with him"! I think she hears her brothers talk a bit too much!

Adoption News: Just talked to our SW, she said we are w a i t i n g for New Horizon's to get accepted in Liberia. Liberia has all the paper work from our agency, we just need prayers for our Agency to get the licence needed to bring children home, especially our little M! Trokon the man working with our agency was going to check on M today, so hopefully we can get a new picture to see how the nutrients and supplements are working out! We only heard his health is improving! Praise God!

I would love it for all those reading our blog, if you could say prayers for the paper work to be processed and accepted. That way we can inch a bit forward to bring home M!

Also please pray for all those in Haiti and other areas who have experienced the hurricanes.

Thanks for checking in and asking how M is doing!

God Bless you all!

Waiting....

Got a "blirp" of an email, with not much of of anything else, but M is doing better. Disappointing not knowing what is really happening. Maybe we will get lucky and find out what is really happening over there! Still waiting for our Homeland Security fingerprint appointments.

Today as I was driving, I was listening to KNWC and they where discussing Steven Curtis Chapman's Families loss this summer, check it out:

Good Morning America on August 5th (8 o`clock hour)
Larry King Live on August 7th
People Magazine issue of August 15th
Today I registered all the kids, 10th, 7th, 5th and TK! Whew it is going to be different around here! I am not ready for school to start, I may sound crazy, but I really enjoy having those crazy kids around!

Birthday Girl

Happy 5th Birthday to Our Little Girl!
Five years ago God blessed us with a baby girl! What a beautiful blessing this one has brought into our home! That day was one that will always be special to us all. My Grandma lived in the nursing home connected to the local hospital. My Grandma thought she could easily be in the delivery room with us. We decided to let her come in when the baby was born. Grandma had the most tender, warm prayer of thanks to God for our baby and Family. Grandma was not too sure of her name, thought there would be a much better name in the Bible.

With Bible School going on I thought we would just have lunch with some friends at the Pizza Ranch. Girls love to have fun!
We went out for dinner with Grandpa & Grandma's on both sides, brother's and cousin D & E.

It is so fun celebrating with Family and Friends!

On the adoption journey....talked to our SW earlier and she said the process is going, she is talking with the other side, getting information together! She also said there should be some more pictures available. So it is coming along, not going backwards! :)

As I leave you I would ask for prayers for a Family in our church who are making plans for their daughter's funeral. She was 34, a great young lady, we had her in our church Youth Group, a lot of fun to be around. We will miss her!

Please pray for Comfort that our Heavenly Father, Peace and Love from all those around them and safety as the Family travels back here.

My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.
Psalm 62:1-2

What great words for us to live by!

Dance Princess

Good Morning, the sun is shining and not much wind! A gorgeous day!

I had to post a picture we just back yesterday!
What a little lady! If she only knew she has to have another set (3rd) of tubes and her tonsils and adenoids taken out next week. This is all before her 5Th Birthday and the dance recital.
Son #1 had them out when he was 3, and my 3 sisters also did. So she will get tons of sympathy.
We are heading to Tulip Time this afternoon. My best friend Laura is coming from Pella to watch her girls march in the parade! So some serious girl friend time today!
Less than 8 days of school left, and it is "Baseball" Season here! Can't wait, I love watching the boys do something they love!
Good luck to Roo and her friends at the High School State track meet! Yesterday they qualified for the finals! The girls run 3 times today again, so keep our fingers crossed and say a prayer they do there best. The weather is perfect for some time breaking times!
Have a wonderful weekend!
