Wedding Shopping, Prayer, and a Baby!

Hello, thanks for checking in on us. Our family has no new updates on Marcus. This is what I found on some other blogs and ask for you all to pray for the Coalitions of Adoption Service Providers. Angel just returned from Liberia, she has wonderful pictures!

Below is an update on Liberia taken from another blog: http://www.rutledge6.blogspot.com/ and from http://respondinginfaith.wordpress.com/
Thank you so much for keeping us up to date on what is happening!
Please include this in your prayers!
Adoptions in Liberia Update
The House of Representative’s in Liberia has passed the Child Act and it is now going to the Senate for final approval. The Coalition of Adoption Service Providers is working to obtain a copy of the bill to see what was in the final bill regarding adoption. Please pray as we know that the bill was changed many times during the process and UNICEF had a great deal of influence throughout.
For those who are not aware, UNICEF and Save the Children have a great deal of influence in Liberia where children are concerned. I’m sure this is a good thing in many respects, but it isn’t where international adoptions are concerned. Both NGO’s believe that children should not be taken from their cultures of birth and strongly discourage international adoptions.
Please pray for the outcome of this legislation.

Happenings at Our House!

Our emotions run high and than we hit rock bottom. Mark and I decided when we started, that we needed to guard our hearts, minds and home, knowing this adoption was all in God's hands, and if it happens God will allow it in His time!

The day we received the email to make travel arrangements, our hearts soared as we praised God! As we prepared, our hearts melted for this little boy, our son was coming home! Before we finalized our plane reservations, we wanted to make sure all was completed in Liberia. We were excited yet nervous because we needed one more signature. Than we found out that all adoptions where shut down as the government was rewriting new laws and looking into some questionable situations. Our family has been praying for all those who are waiting, and especially for the children waiting for parents to come and get them. Our concern is for Marcus if he is staying healthy?

We have been writing emails concerning adoptions in Liberia. Needless to say we don't hear anything from our agency. Praise God for other adoptive parents who find/get information and pass it along. We are not sure when Liberia will reopen. First the report was 2-3 months, I would be totally surprised if that happens. I would guess..summer or fall, or longer.

In the mean time what do a family of 6 do as we wait and pray?

Wedding shopping!!

I have been having fun shopping with my Mom, sisters and Julie's going to be sister and mom. I think we found bridesmaid dresses, not for sure on the wedding dress. Looking at invitations, decorations and flowers! :) God has blessed my little sister with such a wonderful man!

My sisters and niece!

Have a Baby!

Brynn with "D" in the waiting room!

The best part of this week so far has been, yep have a baby! Our dear "son"Chris and his wife were blessed with the most beautiful baby boy! Our family enjoyed having their son with us!! I am so proud of our Chris and how he has grown up to be such a good husband and dad! (When we lived in town, Chris was our neighbor boy, and spent lots of time with us! We consider Chris part of our Family!)

Prayer

Prayer has always been important to our family, and times like this we are praying a lot! Listening , searching and looking at scriptures that can help us. Our agency keeps telling us this is all in God's hands, and His plan. Which I fully grasp, yet I realize God closes doors, I know in my heart God has windows for us to search for right answers, opportunities that wait for us!

Adoption is not easy. Adoption can really break your heart, as yet adoption there is many blessings, and the day a child comes home to our house, this will all make sense and we will praise God!

Many adversities come to the one who is righteous, but the Lord delivers him from them all! Psalm 34:19
